You have got to be kidding. Coraline was a rotten reworking of Alice in Wonderland, minus the charm. Despite the frenetic animation, Coraline is one of those awful films that adults foist on children and which are completely unfit for children. Coraline was clearly put together by adults for adults who are out of touch with what children face in this world and what they need to survive. If Coraline was a meal, it would be junky candy with no nourishment, no morality and no whimsy. Children found it miserable and confusing and no wonder, Neil Gaiman is a member of the Scientology cult and his story is a souless cheat.

Sarah, I could not agree with you more on Maya Rudolph! Usually over the top, she blew me away with her subtle humor and strength, giving the quirky and delightful film the grounding it needed. I also agree that Patricia Field is a genius! And while I may disagree with your lavish praish of 'Coraline,' it still was a delight to watch. Great picks!
