This is the time of year when I begin saving links with an eye toward holiday gift ideas, but this one can’t wait. From the Brooklyn Art Library, home of The Sketchbook Project, comes a limited edition chocolate bar that’s the perfect little something for any book lover with a sweet tooth. (And it seems like most book lovers have sweet teeth—has anyone done a study on this?)
The bar is custom made for The Sketchbook Project by Mast Brothers, Brooklyn chocolatiers who specialize in organic artisanal chocolate made by hand from cacao beans imported directly from South America. This is a rich one, consisting of 73% cacao and holding “hints of red wine, tobacco, and plum.” I’d gladly eat that even without the great-looking bookshelves on the wrapper, and it’s for a good cause as well. These may not last until December, but I have it on very good authority that Labor Day is an excellent holiday to shower love on the literary chocolate lovers in your life. As are Rosh Hashana, Columbus Day, Canadian Thanksgiving, Halloween, Guy Fawkes Day, and Election Day, while we’re at it.
My birthday’s coming up in a few weeks…
I love that. It’s perfect for all my writer friends.
